The lessons are well constructed and the instructor is very animated and knowledgeable. I think this step-by-step approach will be the thing I need to finally learn guitar. The only drawback is that there is too much talking. This boggs down the lesson when you only have 20-30 minutes of practice time. I wish they would just get to the point quicker.

As someone who tried teaching myself guitar in the past and then became stuck and stopped playing I’ve found the lessons helpful. Fundamentals 1 put things together in a helpful way and Fundamentals 2 is starting off teaching me things I’ve really wanted to learn. I was nervous to purchase an online course like this but this is so much better than trying to teach myself through YouTube.

I am 60 years old and with retirement on the horizon I wanted to learn how to play guitar as a hobby.

I researched various online resources to learn how to play which was an overwhelming task in itself. Thankfully I came across GuitarTricks and just loved how the format was set up step by step and after reading a lot of reviews I signed up! I researched which are best guitars for beginners and went out and bought one.

With 2 weeks of lessons under my belt I am feeling more confident and excited everyday. I know this is a long journey but I look forward to the ongoing challenge.

I've been a musician for decades and play drums, saxophone and piano. I decided to learn guitar. After fumbling around on YouTube for a few months, I came across Guitar Tricks and decided to give it a try. Guitar Tricks gives a cohesive, easy to follow lesson platform and you feel like you are in an in-person lesson. Best, you can rewind and replay the lessons to review, thus you are not wasting time in an in-person lesson with your teacher reviewing what you did the previous week. I was skeptical; I'm a seasoned musician. I have learned more in a few weeks with Guitar Tricks than fumbling around on YouTube looking for content in a few months. I did what most people do when searching YouTube and started at the end, not at the beginning. Guitar Tricks has an easy to follow lesson plan and you learn at your own pace. I still think in-person lessons are the best way to go, but if you do not have the capacity to do this, Guitar Tricks is very close. And even if you are taking in-person lessons, I would augment that with Guitar Tricks. What you pay for a one year subscription is less than you would pay for one month's of in-person lessons. Great program!

Hi, I'm brand new to the guitar world and have wanted to learn how to play my whole life. I'm 63 years old and am very grateful for the easy pace instructions I am receiving. The encouraging words have given me the confidence to press on and continue the lifelong goal I have always wanted to achieve.

Because the lessons are for people of all ages but simple enough for a child to understand my dream of becoming a proficient guitar player doesn’t feel unreachable. I love the positive reinforcement I receive from teacher, Anders Mouridsen. The tips from the CEO about not feeling like I have to practice long hours or the need to reach perfection before moving on in the lessons were also very helpful. Thank you Guitar Tricks and Anders for providing a method that takes the pressure and frustration out of learning this beautiful instrument.

I've only been using the site for a week but I am thrilled with the content and ease of using the website. I have also appreciated the follow up emails I get. They are encouraging and give helpful suggestions. I wish I would have found guitartricks years ago. I feel like I might actually be able to play guitar one of these days.

At 66 y.o. I decided to start learning to play guitar ! I found your site and method and I am delighted to follow the titurials ! Thanks to your instructors who are quite pedagogue ! I am at the early stage but quite motivated

The first refund was directed no problem, but my emails weren't answered answer that. I asked them to cnacel my yearly subscription as well with the condition that it would be refunded, and they did; but there was no follow-up, no confirmation of the refund or any informing. Now I don't know whether they simply cancelled it or my money has been directed towards my account. Poor customer service.

I just got back into guitar last week, after forgetting how to play over a decade ago. These lessons are short and sweet, so you can stop or replay and practice over and over which is what I’m doing. I’m making progress that I wasn’t to on my own. I’m starting from scratch even though I used to play right-handed. (I’m learning lefty now.) I still have trouble fingering, but my hand was stepped on by a cop years ago, and my fingers are finally about ready to relearn all I had lost. So for guitar tricks has been great. I’m not sure if 5 star great, but that’s the closest I figure—4.5–5 stars.

As an older novice who has tried playing guitar on a number of occasions, I enjoy Anders Mouridsen style of teaching. He makes it real while telling you to have fun. I am farther now in learning with guitar tricks than ever before.
